Ordering a Transcript: Florida 12th Circuit

How to order a transcript of a digitally recorded hearing in the 12th Judicial Circuit (Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto counties), based on Administrative Order 2025-09.2.

How to order

  1. Have the case number, hearing dates, and judge’s name ready.
  2. Order the recording online through the “Court Recording Request” box on the circuit website.  Online requests are required.
  3. Pay the recording fee: $25 per proceeding per day for a hyperlink or audio CD, or $35 for a PC version CD.  Pay by credit card online, or by check or money order to “State of Florida.”
  4. Hire a transcriptionist from the circuit’s approved list and agree on terms directly.  Approved transcriptionists set their own rates.
  5. For a non-felony appeal, serve the Designation to Approved Court Reporter or Approved Transcriptionist on the transcriptionist you hired, not on Court Administration.  The order suggests serving it after you have the recording.

Rates, audio, and deadlines

Appeal and public-expense transcripts must be prepared by an approved transcriptionist (Rule 2.535).

Felony proceedings are handled by the Official Court Reporters, so serve the designation on that office.

For juvenile proceedings, file the Motion and Order for an electronic copy of the recording.

The hyperlink is the fastest delivery option.  The PC version CD does not play on a Mac.

From the court

Everything on this page comes from the court’s own published procedures, which can change.  Always check the court’s page before you file: Court reporting and recording, List of approved transcriptionists, Administrative Order 2025-09.2.

LunarScripts is on the 12th Circuit’s approved transcriptionist list.  Send us the recording link and we will reply with an estimate and delivery date.
