Step by Step

How to order

1. Complete and sign the federal transcript order form, AO 435.
2. File it in CM/ECF using the “Transcript Request” event under Appeals & Transcripts, or deliver it to the clerk’s office.
3. The clerk’s office sends the hearing audio to a transcriptionist.
4. The transcriptionist contacts you to confirm the details and collect a deposit.  The delivery time starts once the deposit is paid.
5. All payments go to the transcriptionist, not to the court.

Rates, audio, and deadlines

Transcript fees follow the Judicial Conference maximum rates effective October 1, 2024: $4.40 per page for 30 day delivery, $5.10 for 14 day, $5.85 for 7 day, $6.55 for 3 day, $7.30 for next day, and $8.70 for 2 hour, with lower rates for copies.  The court’s page lists 30 day, 14 day, 7 day, and 3 day delivery.

To buy a copy of the audio instead, file form AO 436 with the $34 processing fee at the clerk’s office or through ECF.
